Moriteru Ueshiba Aikido Doshu

I personally met Waka Sensei in Rome in 1982, with Hosokawa Sensei we visited the city extensively, the Doshu loves the historical scent of the Eternal City.
The following year I went to Tokyo for three months and I had the opportunity to attend the Hombu Dojo on a daily basis. At the time I had just concluded studying Japanese at the ISMEO in Rome so I was able to communicate quite easily and had the opportunity to have a few chats with him.
Unfortunately the level of my Japanese has now gone down, but this did not jeopardise the friendly relation with the Doshu, that has developed during the years.
When I have doubts about techniques, I try to visualise how my teachers do these techniques and how they teach them, the Doshu is one of my most frequent inspirations.
